The Three Owls Flower Bed (sold).

These
most recent photographs are of a "fun"project I've been messing about
with over the summer, using a gate and some fence posts salvaged from
Three Owls Bird Danctuary in Norden, just outside Rochdale.
Unfortunately the bird sanctuary had to close and the manager, Nigel,
let me use the timber, once used in one of the nearby footpaths. I
decided to leave the timber much as it was, blackened and molded, rather
than try to clean it up. I had the idea that it could be an outdoor bed
of some sort.
Liverpool
artist Tracy Lewis has bought the bed to act as a working platform in
her amazing garden near to Formby beach. I met Tracy when we were both
trawling the beach for flotsam, me dragging a huge beam for a headboard
and she for driftwood for her mirrors and artwork. The bed has now been
installed and grassed over in her garden.
